Introduction

Ashley & Paulo are great friends of mine. When they decided to get married we were all excited for them. In April 2014, they asked me if I could help them with their wedding invitations. Without any doubt I said yes to them immediately, anything that I could help them with, I would.

I researched by all the internet looking for inspiration, but I didn't liked all the elements and the heavyness they all bring on the invitations, so I decided to do something I would like, something very minimalistic.

Development

So I took the challenge as a UX project, I asked myself what the guests would need to know, what information I also would like to know. The date, time and the location of the wedding were the first ones to come to my mind. The contacts for each one of them were also important if someone wishs to contact them.

After that, I just needed a theme for the invitation. So I suggested themselves to put an element of each one, the bow tie from Paulo and the lace from Ashley's dress. And there it was the color pallete, a simple and minimalistic wedding invitation in black and white.

They choosed from multiple invitations the ones that they liked the most, and I could retouch them till we had the one that everybody liked. The next step was the choice of the materials. We bought different types of papers and laces and began to assembly them. The final result was this.
